Gratitude & Grit sumarise my 2020. I was able to release my first single, Brixton, and begin 15 projects that whilst paused by the goings on of 2020, were an opportunity to meet new and interesting people, gain insight into areas of production and engineering and learn a lot about marketing, playlisting and design and for that I am truly appreciative.
I am gratful that as a new artist I was playlisted by Spotify playlists Chartbreaker & Best New Indie Discoveries, Ditto's Chartbreaker anad, somehow made it into some other great playlists like Rock Fire &Daily Dose of Underrated Pop, for which I am also truly grateful. The editors of Eat This Music, AAA Music, Musica Latina. Band News was kind enough to invite me to participate in their Pink October Special, as a member of Elas Cantam I was able to collaborate with CUFA-DF (NGO that works with Brazilian mothers living in shanty towns) and First Range Radio was kind enough to include Brixton in their play rotation and 43,500+ beautiful people played Brixton over the course of 6 months. So whilst it was rough without live engagement, very minimal production and no shows along with all of the other tricks and surprises that 2020 showered us all with, my grit helped me to push along and my gratitude allowed me to navigate change and discomfort to find the beauty and kindness that I was shown throughout the journey.
As I continue to make slow but constant progress on my 15 projects including my first album, I am also preparing to release my next single. This next song is not only beautiful in its sound and message but a beautiful collaboration with a wonderful Brazilian singer.
